Pioneering dredging company, Haven Dredging, has been selected to participate in an award-winning technology acceleration programme for the offshore sector. The Offshore Renewable Energy(ORE) Catapult’s Launch Academy supports innovative businesses in the offshore renewable energy industry.
The latest edition of the Launch Academy programme is the first of its kind in the East of England. It recognises the region as one of the UK’s largest offshore renewable energy hubs and is the only programme dedicated to early-stage innovation for offshore renewable energy businesses. Each participating business receives up to £25,000 worth of tailored support and guidance.
Of the nine businesses taking part in the first East of England cohort, Haven Dredging has been selected as one of the progressing offshore companies, in recognition of its commitment to both innovation and the environment with the introduction of Tiamat. Launched in April 2023, Tiamat is a cutting-edge dredging solution that drastically reduces costs whilst providing a more environmentally friendly and versatile dredging option.
Outcomes from the programme will help Haven Dredging to raise the profile of the new, innovative, dredging technology, Tiamat, and will support the brand’s ultimate vision of creating a carbon-neutral dredging industry.
Description automatically generatedThe innovative agitation dredging solution, Tiamat, represents a transformative leap in dredging technology, utilising the power of the tide and currents, promoting self-replenishment in the estuarian system, through the natural re-suspension of sediment. What sets Tiamat apart is its adaptability, as it is designed to be mounted onto any small workboat or multi-cat of between 25-27m that has an A-frame, making it a suitable dredging solution for a range of vessels. The technology is adaptable and easy to deploy, meaning it is suitable for port authorities and harbour engineers around the world.
